Faith Lifer and Sara Manesiotis had top-five finishes to help the Hilton Head High girls to victory.
Jack Manesiotis had a fourth-place finish to lead the Seahawks in the boys race. In a field of mostly North Carolina schools, Hilton Head High's boys had the highest finish of any South Carolina team.
The Seahawks run again next weekend in the Run for Ret in Sea Pines.

Run Wild Cross Country Invitational: Bluffton High School's girls captured first place in an eight-team field at Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia, while the Bobcat boys placed third out of seven teams at the season-opening meet.
Bluffton's girls tallied 50 points, easily outdistancing Dutch Fork (65) and James Island (66) for the win. Brittany Fulton placed fourth in a time of 20 minutes, 46 seconds to lead three Bobcats in the top 10.
Anthony Vecchio's second-place finish in a time of 16:50 was tops for Bluffton's boys. Dutch Fork won the boys meet.
Bluffton's junior varsity girls took first place, while the JV boys were third.
The Bobcats compete again next weekend in the Run for Ret on Hilton Head Island.

Boys -- Bluffton 54, Hilton Head High 38; Girls -- Hilton Head High 73, Bluffton 21: Led by a pair of individual wins from Robert Skinner, the Bluffton boys held off Hilton Head High in their season-opening dual in Bluffton, while the Hilton Head High girls rolled to victory.
Fallon Kelley and Nicole Menzel each had two individual wins for the Seahawk girls, who only failed to finish first in one event -- the 200 medley relay.
Ryan Ley broke a six-year old school record in the 100 freestyle for Hilton Head High, and Charlie Bolgan added two individual wins.

Thomas Sumter Invitational: Hilton Head Christian Academy returned with a fourth-place finish in the boys' competition and a sixth-place showing from the girls.
Leading the Hilton Head Christian boys were Drew Lewis, Tristan Cummings and Ryan Naddy. Lewis notched a pair of third-place finishes (100-meter freestyle, 200 individual medley), Cummings placed fifth in the 200 IM and eighth in the 100 breaststroke, and Naddy had a pair of fourths (100 free, 100 backstroke). Also, the boys 200 medley relay team placed fourth.
For the girls, Reilly Toomer topped an eighth-place effort in the 100 back with a third-place finish in the 100 free. Abby Robinson placed third in the 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 100 butterfly. Another standout for the girls was Sydney Cantwell in the 200 IM and the 200 free relay.
FOOTBALL
Abundant Life 44, Jefferson Davis 34: The Cougars opened their schedule Friday night with a road win.
Abundant Life's Jarrett Owens passed for a pair of touchdowns and had a fumble return for a touchdown on defense. Markus Cadwell reached the end zone three times, running for two scores and hauling in an Owens pass for another.
Defensively, the Cougars were led by Ron Spikes and Logan Cunningham.
Abundant Life faces Beaufort Academy on Friday.
VOLLEYBALL
Hilton Head Prep goes 0-2: The Dolphins dropped back-to-back weekend outings against Porter-Gaud and Pinewood Prep. Porter-Gaud knocked off Hilton Head Prep on Friday night, 25-12, 25-15, 25-21, while Pinewood Prep outlasted the Dolphins in a marathon final game, 25-15, 25-18, 35-33.
Hilton Head Prep (1-2) returns to action at 5 p.m. Tuesday, hosting rival Hilton Head Christian Academy.
